Off The Chart: 25 July 1988We’re back at the start of another dexy on Off The Chart which makes it the perfect time to relaunch the show with a new name and logo, like “O” or something. But don’t worry, we haven’t done any of that, we’re just carrying on with all the normal stuff like a bunch of obscure, forgotten and neglected hits, tracks from three of the week’s new albums, a look at the day’s events, a hit from the West German chart and the top five singles in full.

  • Who had a hit single that started out as an album track played backwards?
  • Which Motown classic was back in the chart thanks to a deodorant commercial?
  • And which soul legend turned down the chance to sing on a Prefab Sprout hit?

Tune in and find out!
