And just like that, Christmas is gone and we’re into the dead days before New Year. Off The Chart never sleeps though, and we’re here with two hours of obscure, neglected and forgotten hits from this day in 1988, which of course was that year’s Christmas chart, because of how time works. We’ll also cast an eye over the day’s events, visit the Australian chart, attempt to pick three tracks from a very dead album chart, and conclude with the top five in full as always.
- Whose last hit single had already been a hit 24 years earlier?
- Who was forced to make a single because people started placing orders for it before it existed?
- And whose only hit took over fifty years to reach the chart?
