Off The Chart, qu'est-ce que c'est?
Off The Chart is the '80s chart show that takes you on a trip down Memory Lane, then gets you lost on What The Hell Is This? Cul-De-Sac. Every Tuesday evening we revisit the UK singles chart from this day in a year between 1980 and 1989 and play some of the records that were in the chart - but not necessarily the ones you'd expect to hear. Why play the obvious big hits when there's a record at number 97 that you've never heard before?
In amongst the hits we also aim to bring you a more general overview of what was going on at that time, including some of the day's top news stories, a look at what was on TV, who you could have been listening to on Radio 1, some of the gigs you might have gone to. We also balance out the hits with three of the week's new entries on the album chart and a track from an international chart that was never a hit in the UK.
There's a new Off The Chart every Tuesday at 9pm on Noisebox Radio with another chance to listen at 3pm the following Saturday. You can also catch the show anytime on Mixcloud after the Saturday repeat.
