Ridicule is nothing to be scared of, which is probably just as well as there are some frankly ridiculous records on this week’s Off The Chart! We’re looking at the UK singles chart from this day in 1981, which means the usual two hours of obscure, forgotten and neglected hits, tracks from three new entries on the album chart, a look at the day’s news stories, TV and radio highlights, gig listings, at least one Mystery Cover Version, the horror of the Arthur Dent Moment, a track from one of today’s Peel Sessions, a hit from the West German chart and as if that wasn’t enough, the top five in all its glory.
Listen to Off The Chart on Noisebox Radio at 9pm every Tuesday, with a bonus hour of additional hits from the same chart at 11pm in Off The Chart Too! And don’t forget you can join in the show chat on the Noisebox Radio Discord server. If you’re not around, you can catch up on Mixcloud after that.
