It’s the last chart of the 1980s, but there’s no need to be afraid, as long as you like Christmas records because the top five was still full of them today in 1989. Still, as is our civic duty on Off The Chart we’ll make up for it with two hours of obscure, forgotten and neglected hits, as well as hits from three of the week’s other charts (such as they were), a look at the day’s news, the TV and radio highlights, gig guide and a hit from the French chart, before we have to admit defeat and play the top five in full after all.
