Off The Chart: 30 April 1988Incredibly we’ve been doing Off The Chart for five whole years! Give or take a couple of days, anyway. We couldn’t have the massive birthday celebration we wanted, but we did the best we could by hosting the show in a socially distant manner in Julian’s garden. As well as the annoying wind noise and passing trains, we’ll have the usual collection of forgotten and obscure hits from 1988, three of the week’s new albums, a round up of the day’s events, a look at the French chart and the top five singles in full.

  • Who tried to save the world with a photo of Elvis?
  • Which band’s three ’80s albums all peaked at number 2?
  • And what links both the top two singles to Saturday morning kids’ TV shows?
